Receiving and giving forgiveness is essential. First, we receive it through God’s grace given to us by Christ’s sacrifice. We must forgive others, because God has forgiven us, and we must forgive ourselves, as we are no longer slaves to sin. There is no other way to be reconciled to God and man.
In mercy and truth, atonement is provided for iniquity, and by the fear of the Lord, one departs from evil.
