A ten-year-old boy asks his health worker uncle about the intense itching and red bumps on his body and hands. He is told he has scabies, from tiny mites that burrow under the skin and reproduce there. Scabies is caused by contact with infected people, clothes, or bedding. Treatment is creams or liquids. The whole household must wash and apply the cream for twenty-four hours, then wash again. If not successful, treatment can be repeated seven days after. Wash clothes and bedding also.
