Abraham is claimed as a founding father, a patriarch, by three religions. Certainly, he is the father of many nations. For the Jews he is grandfather of Israel. For the Muslims he was father of Ishmael. For Christians he is the father of the Hebrews, the Father of faith and the family ancestor of Jesus Christ.
