The cross is the heart of the gospel. Christ identified with us in our suffering, and took our sin upon Himself as our substitute, as the Lamb of God, killed from the foundation of the world. The theme of the sacrifice lamb runs through the whole Bible narrative. No one else can forgive us of our sins.
