Making war and bringing peace were two features of Israel dealing with the nations. We see this in the life of David, who was forbidden to build the temple because he had shed blood. Israel brought God’s judgement on nations who were wicked beyond repentance. God also used wicked nations to judge Israel, then dealt with those nations, but God was also establishing a kingdom of peace.
