God made the first blood sacrifice for Adam and Eve as the way to approach Him. Only by death can sin be paid; the innocent substitute for the sin of the guilty. Abel gave God a better offering than Cain’s. Animal sacrifices cannot take way sin, but they point to a coming Saviour.
